The Prize for the Best Doctoral Dissertation in the field of Immunology

Every other year the Finnish Society for Immunology will grant a prize for the Best Doctoral Dissertation in the field of Immunology in Finland.

The award for the years 2017-2018 was granted to PhD Kristiina Santalahti for her PhD thesis

Vascular adhesion protein-1, its ligands and role in cardiovascular disease prediction”.

Application period for the years 2019-2020 is now open!

The Finnish Society of Immunology invites applications for the best PhD Thesis in Immunology Award!

The award will highlight innovative and high quality research by talented early career researchers and the impact of immunology research conducted in Finland. The award is 1000 € and will be presented on September 9th, 2021 in a virtual event.

Who is eligible to apply:

All PhDs who received their degree in the field of immunology (ranging from basic research to clinical applications) in Finland in 2019-2020 are encouraged to apply. The next call will cover years 2021-2022. The deadline for applications is April 30th, 2021.

Please include in your application a motivation letter (max. 2 pages, including a short summary of the PhD thesis and justification why it should be awarded, a pdf copy of the thesis, your CV and a list of publications.
