PhD student Riikka Viitanen received Alavi-Mandell Award

Riikka Viitanen, PhD student at Turku PET Centre and Drug Research Doctoral Programme of University of Turku Graduate School, has been awarded the annual Alavi-Mandell Award from the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging for her publication in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine. She is the first author of paper entitled with 68Ga-DOTA-E[c(RGDfK)]2 Positron Emission Tomography Imaging of SHARPIN-Regulated Integrin Activity in Mice.

Alavi-Mandell Award is given to individuals who were the first author of a paper published in the Journal of Nuclear Medicine that were trainees at the time the published work was carried out and made a major contribution to the completion of the work. The Alavi-Mandell Award aims to encourage the young scientists to pursue a career in academic and research in nuclear medicine.
