The Ministry of Education, Science and Culture has funded ImmuDocs National Doctoral Education Pilot based on the Immune System with 20.7M€. The ImmuDocs National Doctoral Education Pilot focuses on immunology, including all types of inflammatory diseases driven by aberrant immune responses. Immunological interventions are at the heart of their prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Healthcare urgently needs specialists, who understand these immunological areas.

The ImmuDocs Doctoral Education Pilot sought 81 Doctoral Researchers for 3-year doctoral positions in the fields of immunology, immunology-based drug development, and immunology-based diagnostics during the year 2024. The positions were situated in basic, translational, or clinical research based on the project.

The funded positions for doctoral researchers in ImmuDocs are allocated as follows: University of Turku 59, Åbo Akademi University 6, University of Helsinki 10, University of Oulu 2, University of Eastern Finland 2, and University of Tampere 2. The Wellbeing Services County of Southwest Finland and Finnish Vaccine Research are also part of the consortium.

The positions started on August 1, 2024 or on January 1, 2025. Applicants were required not to have been granted the right to pursue a doctoral degree before 1 November 2023.
