InFLAMES Seminar: Prof. Seamus Martin

April 13th at 10:15 and April 14th at 10:15
on-site event
Auditorium Pha1, Pharmacity

Professor Seamus Martin from Trinity College, Dublin and Editor in Chief of FEBS Journal will visit us as an InFLAMES guest next week April 13th-14th. He will give two talks:

Publishing Talk on Thursday April 13th at 10.15, Auditorium Pha1:
‘How to choose a great scientific question and prepare your paper for publication: what I wish I knew years earlier’

Scientific Seminar Friday April 14th at 10.15, Auditorium Pha1:
‘Cell Death, Cell Stress and Inflammation: What doesn’t kill you makes you stranger’

Coffee and sandwiches will be served before at 10 before both seminars!

Postdocs and PhD students are welcome to join Professor Martin for lunch on Friday April 14th at 12. Sign up to Anna Aalto (anna.aalto@abo.fi) at the latest on Tuesday April 11th to get the details.

If you want to meet Professor Martin for project chats, please contact Annika Meinander (annika.meinander@abo.fi).

Professor Seamus Martin is the holder of the Smurfit Chair of Medical Genetics at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Martin has an international reputation in the field of programmed cell death, which plays a key role in the development and function of the immune system. His work is especially focused on the links between cell death, inflammation and cancer. He is also a co-author of the 11th, 12th and 13th editions of the major Immunology textbook ‘Essential Immunology’ and is Editor-in-Chief of The FEBS Journal, a leading Life Sciences journal.
