Frontiers of science spring 2021 program
.BioCity Turku continues the Frontiers of Science seminar series online as eTALKs during the spring 2021. The seminars are meant for both researchers and students and students can get ECTs from participation.
.
Frontiers of Science is over 30-year-old seminar series arranged by BioCity Turku for its students and researchers, where BioCity Turku research programmes invite world-leading scientists to give a talk and present their latest results from their field of research. Traditionally these seminars are arranged on-site in BioCity but due to the pandemics, BioCity Turku launched last autumn a Frontiers of Science eTALK seminar series.
.
In total six Frontiers of Science eTALKs with topics ranging from climate change to cancer
The Frontiers of Science seminar program for spring 2021 is now ready and of the invited speakers is Dr. Vishva M. Dixit, who will give the first eTALK of the season with title “Why so many ways to die?” on March 11th at 18:00. His research interest is on cell death and particularly in NF-kB signaling and ubiquitin modification. Dr. Dixit is the Vice-President of US-based company Genentech Inc.
Academician of Science Markku Kulmala is also invited to present his life-long work studying climate change, and he will give his talk “Climate, air quality and COVID” on April 22nd at 12:00. Kulmala is a professor of aerosol and environmental physics at the University of Helsinki, and the world’s most cited geoscientist and a leading climate researcher.
.
