You are warmly welcome to join an inspiring seminar by Prof. Bishr Omary. Omary is a Professor of Biomedical Science at Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA, and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research at Rutgers Health Campus. On May 23 he will become an Honorary Doctor at Åbo Akademi University, Faculty of Science and Engineering.
Omary’s research focuses on rare diseases that cause damage to the liver, skin and other tissues. His work has led to seminal findings of molecular disease mechanisms, for example on the role and posttranslational regulation of intermediate filament keratins and lamins in gastrointestinal epithelia using disease models and in patients. His studies have led to several patents related to medical diagnostics and therapy.
