 y of Professor Chew:\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nAfter obtaining a BS in Biochemistr
 y at the University of Wisconsin-Madison\, Teng-Leong Chew went to St. Lou
 is University to pursue his PhD\, where he worked to understand the role o
 f myosin II regulation in endothelial cells. Realizing that conventional b
 iochemical methods could not address the spatial and temporal regulation o
 f signaling pathways inside the cell\, Chew embarked on his postdoctoral r
 esearch in the laboratory of Rex Chisholm by developing fluorescent biosen
 sor to simultaneously monitor the enzymatic activity and localization patt
 ern of myosin light chain kinase in vivo. Since then he has worked on mult
 iple leading and directional positions\, such as the director of the Cente
 r for Advanced Microscopy at Feinberg School of Medicine\, Northwestern Un
 iversity.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nSince 2014 Professor Chew has been the Director of
  Advanced Imaging Center (AIC)\, Howard Hughes Medical Institute\, Janelia
  Research Campus)\, the leading institute in the world in the development 
 of microscopy. He leads the effort in building the unique collaborative im
 aging center that serves as the gateway through which the wider scientific
  world can access Janelia’s cutting-edge microscopy capabilities. The AI
 C led by Dr Chew is an esteemed research centre in the world open to all r
 esearchers and the visiting research groups can use the instruments\, cost
 -free. This infrastructure is not available anywhere else.
