His research focuses on mechanisms r egulating white and brown adipose tissue plasticity and function and the r ole of the adipose organ in the maintenance of metabolic control in obesit y and type 2 diabetes. Obesity is a constantly increasing\, health-threate ning problem and even though it is commonly presented as a simple imbalanc e of energy intake and expenditure\, the molecular defects in adipose tiss ue are still weakly recognized.
