 academic career as a Professor at Stanford University\, University of Mich
 igan\, and currently as Professor in Biomedical Science at Rutgers Univers
 ity in USA\, where he also acts as Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Aff
 airs and Research. He has served as Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious jou
 rnal Gastroenterology as well as president of the American Gastroenterolog
 ical Association.\n\nDr. Omary’s training is from chemistry\, cell biolo
 gy and medicine. He has mentored numerous international students and fello
 ws\, and he has a broad perspective on how institutions and academic leade
 rs can support and promote both career and personal development. His stron
 g engagement for advancing early careers is also evident as he has receive
 d several prestigious mentorship awards\, and actively published on mentor
